I’ve been reading comics and graphic novels during my spare time for the past few years. These books are generally convenient to carry around, therefore I always have one in my bag that I can read almost anywhere: in the subway, at the bus stop, in the doctor’s waiting room, in the office bathroom etc… This is mainly for fun as I am not in the writing or art industry, yet I really enjoy reading comic books. Sometimes it’s the best experience… sometimes not so much.
In any case, I often have an opinion on the books I read, and I really wanted to share it with others who may, or may not, have also read the books. All the opinions I state on this blog are purely personal, honest and completely independent. These reviews will most likely speak to comics and graphic novels aficionados. However, these posts are also aimed at all casual comic book readers, who enjoy reading a series from time to time, or even just people who want to read about certain comics. The goal is to share a personal view and hopefully have others share theirs, whether in agreement, disagreement or just to add to the analysis. This is an open exchange and I really welcome your point of view. The goal is also to give you ideas for the next time you hit the graphic novel shelves of a bookstore, whether you buy comics for yourself, or as a gift for your cousin you haven't seen in years.
Most of the books I read are not DC/Marvel classic superheroes stories, such as Superman, X-men etc… Though I read some of these, most of the time I read other series published by parented companies or independent publishers. In the reviews I will mostly refer to some passages of a book, but avoid telling the story, for those who have not read it. If I do have to talk about the story in greater detail, I will make sure to clearly put a spoiler alert, so you know that the following lines will give up some key aspects of the plot.
That being said, I believe it sets a frame for the coming posts on this blog. I hope you have fun reading what comes next, and please, feel free to share your thoughts!
